Qualcomm has discreetly introduced its latest midrange processor, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. The comprehensive specifications of this chipset are now available on the official Qualcomm website. While Qualcomm’s current naming conventions may at times be intricate, the designation of “s” typically signifies a “step-down” model within the product line, a characteristic embodied by the new Snapdragon 6s Gen 3.
The predecessor to the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is the Snapdragon 695, which made its debut in 2021. Notably, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 represents an enhanced iteration of the Snapdragon 695, rather than a direct successor to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.
Featuring the Qualcomm Kryo CPU with clock speeds reaching up to 2.3 GHz, a slight increase from the 2.2 GHz prime cores of its predecessor, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 (SM6375-AC) delivers a 4.5% performance enhancement. Furthermore, it incorporates the Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPU and the Snapdragon X51 5G modem-RF system, supporting both sub-6 and mmWave frequencies.
The inaugural device anticipated to showcase the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is the Motorola Moto G85 5G. Additionally, an alternative non-5G version of the chip, identified by the part number SM6370, hints at the possibility of a 4G variant.
