Lava Mobile has unveiled its latest budget smartphone, the Lava Blaze X, in India. This device aims to compete in the fiercely competitive sub-Rs. 15,000 segment with a focus on a sleek design, a midrange 5G processor, and a vibrant curved display.
Lava Blaze X Features
The Lava Blaze X sports a sleek design with a PMMA back finish and an IP53 rating for water and splash resistance. It measures 8.45mm thick and weighs 183 grams. The smartphone features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 800 nits of peak brightness, promising a smooth and immersive viewing experience.
Under the hood, the Lava Blaze X is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor, which scores 426,290 points on the AnTuTu benchmark. It is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, available in 4GB+4GB, 6GB+6GB, and 8GB+8GB configurations. The Lava Blaze X runs on stock Android 14, a clean, ads-free and bloatware-free experience. The company promises one year of major software updates and 2 years security patches.
The phone packs a 64MP Sony camera with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and a 2MP depth sensor for capturing detailed photos and videos. For selfies, there’s a 16MP front-facing camera. The Lava Blaze X is equipped with a 5000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging.
Additionally, the device offers an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking. It also supports dual SIM cards and Widevine L1 certification for high-quality streaming content. However, it lacks expandable storage via SD card and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Lava Balze X Price and Availability
The Lava Blaze X is available in India starting at Rs.14,999 or around $179 for the 4GB variant. As part of a launch offer, the phone is currently available for Rs.13,999. The device is expected to be available across major online and offline retailers in India starting on July 20, 2024.
Overall, the Lava Blaze X appears to be a compelling offering in the budget segment, with its impressive display, decent 5G processor, and long-lasting battery. However, the lack of expandable storage and a 3.5mm audio jack might be a dealbreaker for some users.
