Samsung has announced the integration of Google Photos into its smart TV lineup, allowing users to access their digital archives on an immersive cinematic scale. According to the Samsung Newsroom, the partnership aims to transform the living room experience by turning large-format displays into hubs for shared family memories and personal media.
Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung’s Visual Display Business, stated:
“Samsung TVs have always brought people together, and bringing Google Photos to the big screen makes that experience even more personal. We’re giving users an intuitive and engaging way to enjoy the stories behind their photos right from the comfort of their living room.”
The integration will seamlessly sync photos from users’ phones to Samsung TVs in cinematic format. Users can explore curated memories organized by people, places, and moments, while Google Photos will enhance Samsung’s Vision AI Companion to highlight memories throughout the day. Samsung plans to weave Google Photos deeply into the TV experience, with photos appearing naturally via Daily+ and Daily Board, and setup will be simple: sign in with a Google Account, and memories instantly display on the big screen.
Three key features will roll out in phases:
- Memories: Launching exclusively on Samsung TVs in early 2026 (six-month exclusivity), showcasing curated stories based on people, locations, and moments.
- Create with AI: Arriving later in 2026, offering themed templates powered by Google DeepMind’s Nano Banana model, plus Remix (art style transformation) and Photo to Video (animate stills).
- Personalised Results: Also launching later in 2026, generating slideshows based on topics like ocean, hiking, or Paris.
Samsung and Google Photos aim to deliver a cinematic gallery experience in the home, transforming photo libraries into a space to explore, create, and reminisce. “Google Photos is a home for people’s photos and videos, helping them organise and bring their memories to life,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President of Google Photos and Google One. “We’re excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs—helping people enjoy their favourite photos on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways.”
