Redmi has launched the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China, introducing two performance-focused smartphones powered by MediaTek chipsets, high-refresh OLED displays, and large-capacity batteries with 100W fast charging.

Both models run Android 16 with HyperOS 3, feature a flat 1.5K OLED panel, and carry IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance ratings.

Redmi Turbo 5: Dimensity 8500-Ultra, 7,560mAh battery

The Redmi Turbo 5 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra (4nm) chipset, paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It comes with a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 3500 nits peak brightness, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and support for HDR10+.

For cameras, it features a 20MP OmniVision OV20B front camera, while the rear setup includes a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

The phone packs a 7,560mAh battery with 100W fast charging and supports 27W wired reverse charging. Other features include an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers (1014D + 1115), an X-axis linear motor, and a 5300mm² 3D ice cooling system.

It comes with a larger 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 3500 nits peak brightness, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

A major highlight is the 9,000mAh battery, paired with 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging. The Max variant also adds an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, dual 1115F stereo speakers, a T1S signal enhancement chip, and a larger 5800mm² 3D ice cooling system.

While both models are currently limited to China, reports suggest they could arrive in other regions under different branding, possibly as the POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max, with similar core specifications but market-specific naming and configurations.
