Sony-owned Guerrilla Games has officially unveiled Horizon Hunters Gathering, a new cooperative action title set in the Horizon universe, coming to PlayStation 5 and PC. The game expands the franchise beyond its single-player roots, realizing a long-standing vision of machine hunting built specifically for team-based play.

Playstation has uploaded the game’s announcement trailer on YouTube. While no release date has been confirmed, Guerrilla said players can expect more details and hands-on opportunities throughout 2026 as development continues.
Horizon Hunters Gathering supports up to three players in tactical, skill-driven combat against deadly machines. Drawing from Guerrilla’s multiplayer experience on the Killzone series, the game emphasizes coordination, positioning, and adaptive strategies while retaining the precise combat style that defines Horizon.
The game is structured around replayable hunts, with two modes revealed so far. Machine Incursion focuses on high-intensity battles against waves of machines led by powerful bosses, while Cauldron Descent offers longer, multi-stage challenges featuring shifting rooms, escalating difficulty, and optional high-risk paths with greater rewards. Both modes will be playable in an upcoming closed playtest scheduled for late February via the PlayStation Beta Program on PS5 and PC.
Players can choose from a roster of uniquely skilled Hunters, each offering distinct melee or ranged playstyles, further customized through a rogue-lite perk system. The game is fully canon and features a narrative campaign that introduces new characters and mysteries, with the story continuing beyond launch. Horizon Hunters Gathering will support cross-play and cross-progression between PS5 and PC, with Guerrilla planning regular updates and additional playtests in the months ahead.
