Tecno Mobile has officially launched the Pova 8 5G in India with a starting price of ₹29,999, or about ₱19,199 when converted to Philippine pesos. The phone comes in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB storage variants, with Arc White, Graphite Black, Helios Orange, and Echo Green colorways.
Before its official launch on June 11, 2026, they teased the first look of the phone with the same design and look as the previous Pova 7. However, the brand says, “We are here to delete normal,” which means they tweaked and rebuilt it, making it reminiscent of the Nothing Phone models by adding an active-matrix-style design.
According to the brand, the phone will be available on June 18, 2026, at 12 PM via Flipkart and other reputable stores across the country. However, availability in other regions, particularly in the Philippines, has not yet been announced.
Here are the prices of the Tecno Pova 8 5G as announced by the brand (converted to Philippine pesos):
- 6/128GB: ₹29,999 (~₱19,199)
- 8/128GB: ₹31,999 (~₱20,499)
You may notice this new model carries a higher price tag than the previous model when it launched, as rising memory price hikes continue to impact pricing.
Tecno Pova 8 vs. its Predecessor, Tecno Pova 7
The new Tecno Pova 8 5G builds on the Pova 7 5G formula but shifts focus heavily toward battery life and active-matrix-style design while making a few trade-offs in some specs.
Both phones lean into the gaming-style look and long-lasting power that defines the Pova line, yet the Pova 8 stands out right away with its massive upgrade in capacity and a unique rear display feature. Where the Pova 7 balanced speed and endurance, the newer model doubles down on staying power for users who prioritize time between charges above all else.
Here is how the main specs stack up between the two:
| Specification | Tecno Pova 8 | Tecno Pova 7 |
|---|---|---|
| Battery & Charging | 8,000 mAh with 45 W charging and 10 W reverse charge | 6,000 mAh with 45 W wired and 30 W wireless charging |
| Display | 6.76‑inch 144 Hz FHD+ LCD | 6.78‑inch 120 Hz FHD+ LCD |
| Chipset | Dimensity 7100 (6 nm) | Dimensity 7300 Ultimate (4 nm) |
| Design Feature | Active Matrix rear display | Delta Light LED strip |
| Camera System | 50 MP main sensor with fewer auxiliary lenses | 50 MP main sensor with more auxiliary lenses |
In battery analysis, the Pova 8 will easily outlast its predecessor by up to 2 days, as claimed by the brand, though the Pova 7 holds an edge in sustained gaming and heavy multitasking due to its newer, more efficient processor.
If you want the longest battery life and eye-catching design, the Pova 8 is the clear pick. If you care more about consistent peak performance and wireless charging, the older Pova 7 remains a compelling choice.
