Filipinos can now use a free AI assistant inside the eGovPH Super App to get information about government services, process documents, and access digital identity verification features.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) officially launched eGovAI on September 21, 2026, at The Manila Hotel. The live event can be watched on the PTVMalacanang YouTube channel. The AI-powered service is integrated into the existing eGovPH Super App, which the agency says has 61 million registered users.
At the center of the update is “Kuya AI,” a built-in AI assistant that provides real-time guidance on government services. It can also translate content, extract information from documents, understand forms, identify images, and generate speech.
What can eGovAI do?
At launch, eGovAI includes several AI-powered tools and services, including:
- Government services assistant
- Document extraction
- Form understanding
- Image identification
- Translation
- Speech generation
- Coding and programming assistance
- Tourism information and real-time mapping
- Access to laws, policies, and government guidelines
- Identity verification assistance
- Health-related AI assistance
- Farming and crop-related information
The platform also includes electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) and liveness checks to support digital identity verification and help protect against fraud.
DICT Secretary Henry Aguda said the features were developed by the agency’s own developers and are powered by Google Gemini. The service is free for verified eGovPH users.
In a message delivered by Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to use the technology “wisely, responsibly, and ethically,” adding that technology should sharpen human judgment rather than replace it.
The launch also recognized the Top 30 teams from the eGovPH Hackathon 2026, which brought together teams developing digital solutions for government services.
DICT said eGovAI is intended to make government transactions faster and reduce the need for Filipinos to visit multiple government offices in person.
