Here’s what we know!
MediaTek, the leading chipmaker from Taiwan, is gearing up to unveil its flagship processor, the Dimensity 9300, on 6 November, 2023. The Dimensity 9300 is expected to be a powerful SoC that will compete with the likes of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Samsung Exynos 2400, which are also launching soon.
However, the Dimensity 9300 might not be the only new chipset that MediaTek will introduce on that day. According to a recent tip from @ZionsAnvin, the company is also planning to launch the Dimensity 8300, a mid-range processor that will succeed the Dimensity 8200.
The Dimensity 8300 will reportedly feature a 1+3+4 architecture, with one Cortex-X3 core clocked at 2.8 GHz, three Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz. The GPU will be an ARM Immortalis-G715 GPU or Arm Mali-G520 running at 850 MHz.
There is a rumor that the GPU of the Dimensity 8300 is the Mali-G52 MC6, but I am sure that is wrong because the Mali-G52 is a lower midrange GPU. I have gathered some news from a reliable source that this is said to be an underclocked Dimensity 9200, so it is possible that the Arm Immortalis G715 or Mali-G520 is the GPU of the Dimensity 8300.
The Dimensity 8300 will be based on a 4 nm process, which should offer better performance and efficiency than the 6 nm Dimensity 8200. The Dimensity 8300 will also support LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, as well as 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 6E.
The Dimensity 8300 is likely to power some of the upcoming mid-range smartphones from brands like Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, and Oppo. The Dimensity 8200 was used by devices such as the Vivo iQOO Neo 7 SE, the Realme GT Neo 2, and the Xiaomi 12T Lite.
The upcoming chipset could offer a significant boost in performance and features over its predecessor, making it an attractive option for consumers looking for a balance between price and performance.
MediaTek has not officially confirmed the existence of the Dimensity 8300, nor has it revealed any details about its launch date or availability. However, if the tipster is correct, we might see the Dimensity 8300 alongside the Dimensity 9300 on 6 November, 2023. We will keep you updated with more information as it becomes available. Stay tuned.
