MediaTek has announced that it has partnered with Google to enable on-device AI features on its Dimensity 9300 and 8300 systems-on-a-chip. These chips, which power some of the best phones in the market, can now run Google’s Gemini Nano model, a large language model (LLM) designed for mobile devices.
Gemini Nano is a breakthrough in on-device AI, as it allows smartphones to generate natural language responses without relying on cloud servers. This means faster, more reliable, and more private AI experiences for users. MediaTek and Google have worked together to optimize Gemini Nano for the Dimensity 9300 and 8300 chips, using MediaTek’s NeuroPilot AI platform and APU (AI Processing Unit).
The Dimensity 9300 and 8300 chips are among the most advanced processors in the industry, offering high performance, 5G connectivity, and AI capabilities. MediaTek has been investing in creating AI ecosystems for its chips, and Gemini Nano is the latest example of its collaboration with Google. Smartphone manufacturers and developers can now leverage Gemini Nano to create innovative on-device AI applications for Dimensity 9300 and 8300 phones.
Some of the notable devices that feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC are:
- Vivo X100 series
- Oppo Find X7 series
- Tecno Phantom V2 Fold
- iQOO Neo 9 Pro
Some of the notable devices that feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 SoC are:
- Oppo Reno 12
