Amazon has recently launched three Fire HD 8 Series tablets: the Fire HD 8 2024 tablet, Fire HD 8 Kids, and the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro. Each tablet includes an AI writing assistant, quick webpage summaries via the Amazon Silk browser, and a tool for creating custom wallpapers from text prompts.
Amazon HD 8 Tablet (2024) Series Price and Availability
The Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet (2024) is available in 32GB and 64GB configurations. The 32GB model has an introductory price of $54.99 (early bird price), with a suggested retail price (SRP) of $99. The 64GB variant is priced at $84.99 (early bird price), with an SRP of $129.99. This introductory pricing will be available until October 9th, and the tablet is now available for purchase.
Amazon Fire HD 8 2024 Tablet Features
The new Fire HD 8 Tablet (2024) features an 8-inch IPS HD display with 1280 x 800 resolution and 189 ppi. For the memory, it has 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage.
Although the tablet can expand up to 1TB with a microSD card, it may not be as powerful as devices today. However, it boasts a 50% improvement over its predecessor (2022 model).
Internally, the Fire HD 8 2024 tablet is powered by the Mediatek MT8169A processor, clocked at 2.00GHz, featuring a 6-core Cortex-A55 CPU and an Arm Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.
For the cameras, the tablet sports a 5MP main shooter, while on the front is a 2MP selfie sensor.
Regarding the battery, the company does not mention the capacity of the device, but it says it can last up to 13 hours with a single charge. It also supports USB 2.0 with Type-C.
Other features include stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, and runs on FireOS 8.
Meanwhile, the Fire HD 8 Tablet Kids and Fire HD 8 Pro are designed for specific age ranges. Kids is for little ones aged 3 to 7, while Pro is meant for kids 6 to 12.
The Fire HD 8 Tablet (2024) will be available in Black, Emerald, and Hibiscus. The Fire HD 8 Kids has options like Blue, Disney Pixar Cars (red and yellow), Disney Princess (Pink and Purple), and Grape.
Lastly, the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro will feature colors like Discovery (teal and blue), Hello Teal, Jungle Cat (purple and blue), and Marvel Avengers (black and red).
