Apple has introduced a new Apple Pencil model that features a USB-C port for charging and pairing. The new stylus is priced at $79, making it the most affordable option in the Apple Pencil lineup.
The new Apple Pencil has a matte finish and a sliding cap that reveals a USB-C connector. It can be magnetically attached to the side of the iPad for storage, but it does not support wireless charging or pairing. It also lacks pressure sensitivity, double tap to change tools, and free engraving, which are available on the first- and second-generation Apple Pencils.
However, the new Apple Pencil still offers low latency and tilt sensitivity, making it suitable for taking notes, sketching, marking up documents, and more. It also supports Apple Pencil hover when used with the latest iPad Pro models.
The new Apple Pencil is compatible with all iPad models that have a USB-C port, including the iPad 10, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. It will be available in early November.
Apple said that the new Apple Pencil is designed to provide a basic stylus option for iPad users who want to experience the magic of digital handwriting and creativity.
