Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most ambitious and immersive games of the decade, but it also has its fair share of flaws and controversies. One of the main criticisms of the game is its lackluster graphics, especially on consoles and low-end PCs. The game’s textures often look blurry, pixelated, or washed out, making the futuristic Night City and its inhabitants less appealing and realistic.
Fortunately, the modding community has stepped up to improve the game’s visuals with various texture packs that enhance the game’s assets to higher resolutions and quality. One of the latest and most impressive texture packs is the NPC Re-Texture Project 2077 pack, which introduces 8K and 4K resolution textures for most of the game’s major characters, such as Johnny Silverhand, Rogue, Evelyn Parker, Judy Alvarez, Panam Palmer, Goro Takemura and others. The texture pack also overhauls Solomon Reed and Song So Mi from the Phantom Liberty expansion.
The NPC Re-Texture Project 2077 pack is created by modder ‘Amakesh’, who also released a 4K texture pack for all weapons in the game. The modder used AI upscaling techniques to enhance the original textures without altering their art style or performance. The result is a stunning improvement in the game’s character models, making them look more detailed, lifelike, and expressive.
The texture pack is compatible with the latest game update and Phantom Liberty expansion, and it does not affect the game’s performance significantly if you have enough VRAM (video card memory). There are two versions of the texture pack: Ultra Quality and Balanced. The Ultra Quality version contains the highest quality textures and is recommended for 2K/4K displays. The Balanced version maintains high textures quality with lower VRAM usage and is recommended for graphics cards with less memory.
To install the texture pack, you need to download one main file from Nexus Mods, unpack it and move the content into the main game folder keeping the folders structure. Then you can launch the game and enjoy the enhanced visuals.
The NPC Re-Texture Project 2077 pack is not the only texture pack available for Cyberpunk 2077. There are other mods that improve various aspects of the game’s graphics, such as cardboard, stickers, newspapers, carpets, trees, vegetation, wood textures, and more. You can check them out on Nexus Mods or other modding websites and mix and match them according to your preference.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that deserves to be experienced in its full glory. With these texture packs, you can make your journey in Night City more immersive and satisfying. Whether you are a fan of the game or not, you should give these mods a try and see for yourself how much they improve the game’s visuals. You might be surprised by how much difference they make.
