HMD Global has officially launched its new mid-range phone in the Philippines, the HMD Skyline 5G. The phone draws inspiration from the classic Nokia Lumia design, featuring square side corners and vibrant colors. However, the phone boasts a Gen2 repairable smartphone design, allowing users to easily repair the device with just a few screws on the back.
HMD Skyline 5G Features
The phone features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ pOLED display panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display boasts a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits.
Under the hood, the HMD Skyline is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon® 7s Gen 2 paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512GB with external storage.
The phone runs on Android 14 with up to two years of OS upgrades and three years of security patches. It also features a balanced interface with Detox Mode to help users step away from the “always-on” feeling by deactivating a selection of apps or contacts.
For imaging, the phone is equipped with a 108MP autofocus main camera with OIS+EIS, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. The punch-hole front camera houses a 50MP sensor that features autofocus with eye-tracking.
It also features OZO Spatial Audio, which captures wind-noise cancellation technology to enhance audio in video recording.
Other features include NFC support, Bluetooth 5.2 with LE audio, USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG, and a 4600mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The battery is replaceable. The charging technology supports QC4.0 and PD3.0 compatibility, as well as magnetic 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.
The HMD Skyline 5G is now available in official online stores and retailers in the Philippines, priced below P25k. It is available in two color options: Neo Pink and Twisted Black.
