Honor has launched its latest smartphone in the midrange segment, the Honor Play 8T, in China. The device is a mid-range offering that boasts a 6.8-inch TFT LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset, a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, and a whopping 6,000mAh battery that supports 35W fast charging.
The Honor Play 8T comes in two variants: one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and another with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The prices are CNY 1,099 (approximately PHP 8,500) and CNY 1,299 (approximately PHP 10,000), respectively. The phone runs on Android 13 with MagicOS 7.2 on top.
The Honor Play 8T features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. It also supports dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 5G connectivity. The phone comes in four color options: green, silver, black, and purple.
Meanwhile, the phone has some drawbacks, such as the lack of micro SD card support, the low-resolution front camera, and the limited availability outside China. However, for its price range, it is still a good option for people who are looking for a smartphone that can handle gaming, multitasking, and media consumption without breaking the bank.
As for the availability in the Philippines, the Honor Play 8T is not officially launched yet in the country. The estimated price of the Honor Play 8T in the Philippines is around ₱8,500 for the 8/256 GB variant and around ₱10,100 for the 12/256 GB variant.
