Huawei has recently launched the Huawei Mate X6 foldable smartphone in China. The phone is now available to purchase, with a starting price of ¥12,999 for the 12+256GB variant, or about ₱105,380 in Philippine pesos. It is available in Nebula Grey, Nebula White, Universal Red, Deep Sea Blue, and Obsidian Black.

Huawei Mate X6 foldable smartphone in five colors: red, blue-green, gray, white, and black. Pricing and storage options are shown.

Huawei Mate X6 Foldable Smartphone Specs & Features

The Huawei Mate X6 is a foldable smartphone that boasts several notable features, including a slim design, powerful cameras, and a large battery.

The phone is incredibly slim when unfolded, measuring just 4.3 mm thick. It also features a redesigned hinge made from rocket-grade steel. The phone has an IPX8 rating for water and dust resistance.

For the cameras, it features a quad-camera setup on the back, with three lenses borrowed from other Huawei devices. The 50 MP main camera, with its variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture, comes from the Huawei PURA 70 Pro+. A 48 MP telephoto lens with a 90 mm focal length and up to 4x optical zoom is sourced from the Mate 60 Pro, while the 40 MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus is also found on the PURA 70 Ultra.

In addition, the fourth camera is a hyperspectral sensor capable of capturing over 1.5 million colors. This sensor enhances the performance of the other cameras by improving color accuracy through Huawei’s XD Fusion engine.

For the battery, it offers two battery options: a 5,110 mAh capacity for the standard version and a larger 5,200 mAh battery for the 16GB RAM variant. Charging is efficient, with 66W wired support. The phone also has 50W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless capabilities for powering other devices.

The Huawei Mate X6 boasts a foldable 7.93-inch LTPO display with a near 1:1 aspect ratio and a sharp resolution of 2,440 x 2,240 pixels. This screen supports a variable refresh rate ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz, offers up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness, and can display over 1 billion colors for vivid visuals.

On the outside, the cover display features a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 1080p resolution. It matches the foldable screen’s 1-120 Hz refresh rate but surpasses it in brightness, reaching an impressive 2,500 nits. For screen durability, the display is protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Kirin 9020, a 12-core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and paired with the Mali-G920 GPU. The device offers 12GB and 16GB RAM options and 256GB up to 1TB of storage.

The phone runs on HarmonyOS 4.3, which is still based on the Android AOSP kernel, not a pure-blooded HarmonyOS. However, if you purchase the HarmonyOS NEXT Pioneer Edition (Collector’s Edition), the operating system installed on the device is HarmonyOS 5.0.

Other features include dual-satellite communication, but only the Chinese satellites Beidou and Tiantong. It is also features 3D vapor chamber with liquid cooling and graphite layers to dissipate heat efficiently. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C, USB 3.1 Gen 1 and more.
