The Huawei Pura X clamshell foldable smartphone has recently launched in China, starting at CNY 7,499. The device is available for purchase in China via the Huawei Store vmall and comes in Stylish Red, Stylish Green, Moon Shadow Gray, Zero White, and Magic Night Black colorways.
Huawei Pura X Features
The phone features a 6.3″ internal screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, resembling a compact tablet like an iPad Mini. The external screen measures 3.5″ when folded. Both internal and external screens are flexible OLEDs, supporting a 1-120Hz LTPO 2.0 adaptive refresh rate and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The internal screen has a 2120 × 1320 resolution with 300Hz TSR, while the external screen has a 980 × 980 pixel resolution with 240Hz TSR.
According to some reports, the device uses a Kirin 9020 processor and a Maleoon-G920 GPU, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed by the company. This supports Huawei’s prediction of a Kirin chip global comeback. Memory and storage options include 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. The Pura X Collector’s Edition offers 16GB of RAM and 512GB/1TB of storage.
The camera system features a 50MP f/1.6 RYYB main shooter with OIS, a 40MP f/2.2 RYYB ultra-wide lens with macro capabilities, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and up to 30X digital zoom with OIS. The front camera is a 10.7-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
Battery features include a 4,720mAh battery using silicon-carbon technology and support for 66W fast charging. A graphite plate cooling system is also included.
Connectivity features include a 5G network, 4G LTE, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, and Tiantong satellite support for emergency calls and messages (Collector’s Edition only). Other features include HUAWEI Histen Sound, an IPX8 rating, USB 3.1 Gen 1, NFC, and HarmonyOS 5.0 w/ AI features.
