The iQOO 15 Ultra, a new flagship smartphone from the Vivo sub-brand, is said to have passed a major regulatory milestone in China, indicating an upcoming release.

The device, tagged with model number V2546A, showed up in the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) database this week. Based on recent reports and leaks from social media platform Weibo, the phone is set to debut before the Spring Festival holiday.
This model represents a change for the brand, bringing an “Ultra” version to its numbered flagship lineup for the first time. While iQOO is recognized for performance-focused devices, the 15 Ultra seems built to close the gap between dedicated gaming phones and high-end everyday handsets.
iQOO 15 Ultra Key Details
According to details shared by digital influencers on Weibo, the iQOO 15 Ultra will be driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile processor.
This chip is matched with iQOO’s exclusive Q3 gaming chip, a secondary processor engineered to manage frame interpolation and resolution upscaling, easing the burden on the main GPU during heavy-duty tasks.
The front of the handset is reported to feature a 6.85-inch flat AMOLED display made by Samsung. This “M14” screen provides 2K resolution, keeping in step with the standard iQOO 15 model launched previously. Opting for a flat panel instead of a curved one points to an ongoing focus on touch accuracy for mobile gaming.
Performance and Gaming Features
Certification records and leaks indicate a powerful setup. The device is listed with a battery capacity of over 7,000mAh, supported by 100W wired quick charging. Wireless charging functionality is also provided.
Setting it apart from standard flagships, the iQOO 15 Ultra is said to incorporate active cooling components. Sources note the phone houses a centrifugal cooling fan designed to maintain peak performance periods. This feature usually limited to specialized gaming devices like Redmagic.
Additionally, the body includes pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers, offering physical controls for gaming commands.
Camera, Software, and Availability
For photography, the device is expected to employ a Sony LYTIA LYT-600 sensor (often referred to as the IMX882) for its periscope telephoto unit, delivering 3x optical zoom. This sensor selection seeks to balance internal space needs with zoom performance, considering the room required for the active cooling system and large battery.
The phone will likely come pre-loaded with Android 16, layered with the company’s newest OriginOS interface.
With the Spring Festival taking place in mid-February this year, the brand expects an official announcement in the next few weeks. Pricing and global availability details have not yet been revealed.
