Meizu 21, the upcoming flagship smartphone from the Chinese brand, has been spotted on the 3C certification website, revealing some key specifications. According to the listing, the Meizu 21 will support 80W fast charging, which is a significant upgrade from the 67W charging on the Meizu 20. The 3C certification also confirms that the Meizu 21 will have a 5G network support and a dual-SIM card slot.
Meizu 21 key specs
The Meizu 21 is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2024, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is offer a major performance boost over the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and even rival the Apple A17 Pro chip in terms of benchmarks.
The Meizu 21 rumored to feature a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a periscope telephoto lens, as well as a flat display with thin bezels and a high refresh rate. The design of the Meizu 21 will reportedly follow the Meizu 20 series, with a vertical camera module and an RGB ring LED flash on the back. It also have a 4,800 mah battery paired with 80W fast charge.
The Meizu 21 series will also mark the return of the brand to the global markets, after focusing on its domestic market for the past three years. Meizu has confirmed that it is developing a global version of the Meizu 21, which is expected to release in December 2023. Meizu is also working on its car infotainment system called Flyme Auto, in collaboration with Geely and Polestar.
The Meizu 21 series will face tough competition from other Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, and Vivo, as well as Samsung and Apple, in the premium smartphone segment. However, Meizu has a loyal fan base and a reputation for delivering innovative and quality products, which could give it an edge over its rivals. The Meizu 21 series is likely to be one of the most anticipated smartphone launches of 2024.
