London-based tech startup Nothing has unveiled its latest budget-friendly midrange smartphone, the Phone (3a) Lite, offering premium features at accessible pricing. Positioned as a streamlined version of its flagship siblings, the device debuts with competitive specs across display, performance, and software support.

The Phone (3a) Lite features a 6.77-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, boasting a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. It supports 2160Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain, and the display is protected by Panda Glass.

Crafted with an aluminum frame and featuring a customizable Glyph Light interface (a signature Nothing feature), the design adds a premium touch, while its weight of 199g and 8.3mm thickness prioritize portability.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset and paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It also supports expandable storage via microSD and includes a liquid cooling system to manage heat during prolonged use.

The triple-camera array includes a 50MP primary sensor (1/1.57″), an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The 16MP front camera supports portrait selfies and for video calls. A 5,000mAh battery supports 33W wired charging and 5W reverse charging.

The phone runs Android 15 out-of-the-box with Nothing OS 3.5 skin on top. What the brand did well is offer a bloatware-free experience and a customizable interface and promise up to three years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

For connectivity, the Phone (3a) Lite supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4, with NFC availability varying by region. Additional features include a single speaker and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Audiophiles may find the lack of stereo speakers a trade-off.

Pricing and Availability

Starting at €249 for the 8GB+128GB model and €279 for the 256GB storage option, the Phone (3a) Lite launches first in Europe, the UK, Middle East/Africa, and Southeast Asia. An India release is reportedly coming soon, though exact dates remain unconfirmed. Meanwhile, the Phone (3a) Lite has been spotted on Nothing’s phone collections in the Philippines with an indicated price of ₱17,490 for the 256GB storage.
