Here’s what we know
OPPO has recently launched the A79 5G, a mid-range smartphone that runs on Android 13 and ColorOS 13.1, in India. The device is expected to arrive in the Philippines soon, as a successor to the A78 5G that was released earlier this year.
Oppo A79 Specifications
The A79 5G features a 6.72-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. This is a significant upgrade from the A78 5G, which had an HD+ display with a notch. The A79 5G also has a punch-hole cutout for the 8MP selfie camera.
The MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor runs the Oppo A79 5G. It is the same as the Dimensity 700 that powered the A78 5G, but with a different name. The phone has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which you can increase with a microSD card.
The phone has two cameras on the back: a 50MP main one with a wide f/1.8 lens and a 2MP depth one with a narrow f/2.4 lens. The camera can take photos with LED flash, HDR, and panorama, and record videos at 1080p@30fps.
The phone’s 5000mAh battery can charge fast with 33W SuperVOOC charge and a USB Type-C port. It also has stereo speakers, a fingerprint scanner on the side, and sensors for motion, distance, and direction.
This device can accommodate two nano-SIM cards and access various networks, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC. It lacks a radio and a port for earphones. It also has an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance
It comes in two color variants: Gray and Blue. The device has a unique back panel design that resembles a bird’s feather and is called the Glowing Feather design by OPPO.
The A79 5G is priced at Rs. 19,999 in India, which is equivalent to around Php. 14,000 in the philippines. The official price and availability of the device in the Philippines are yet to be announced by OPPO.
The A79 5G is a good choice for those who need a 5G phone with a sharp screen, a decent camera, and a long-lasting battery. It is not very expensive, but it has enough power and features to satisfy most users. Some reviewers have praised the phone’s design, display, and battery life, but have also criticized its lack of a headphone jack, radio, and ultra-wide camera. The phone also faces tough competition from other brands that offer similar or better specs at lower prices. The A79 5G is a solid mid-range phone, but it may not be the best value for money in the market. share your thoughts about the phone, please comment below.
