Oppo has launched its latest tablet, the Oppo Pad Air 2, in China. The new tablet shares its design and specifications with the OnePlus Pad Go, which was launched earlier this year. The Oppo Pad Air 2 features a 11.35-inch IPS LCD display with a 2k resolution 1720 x 2400 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display also supports stylus input and has a peak brightness of 400 nits.

The Oppo Pad Air 2 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which is a 6nm octa-core processor with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The tablet also has a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU for graphics performance. The Oppo Pad Air 2 comes in three variants: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card slot.

Camera

The Oppo Pad Air 2 has a single 8MP rear camera with autofocus and a single 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The tablet can record 1080p videos at 30fps from both cameras. The Oppo Pad Air 2 also has four stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, but lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. The tablet supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C 2.0, and OTG. The tablet does not have cellular connectivity, GPS, or NFC

Battery

The tablet packs a 8,000 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging via the USB Type-C port. It also supports 5W reverse wired charging to charge other devices. The Oppo Pad Air 2 runs on Android 13 with OxygenOS 13.2 on top. The tablet also has a fingerprint scanner on the side, an accelerometer, a gyro, a proximity sensor, and a compass.

Price and availability

The Oppo Pad Air 2 is priced at CNY 1,299 (Rs 15,000 approx) (around P10.1k) for the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It comes in two more variants of 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage priced at CNY 1,499 (Rs 17,000 approx) (around P11.7k) and CNY 1,699 (Rs 20,000 approx) (around P13.2k), respectively.

The tablet is available in two colors: Silver and Gray. The Oppo Pad Air 2 is currently up for pre-order in China and will go on sale from November 28. There is no word on the global availability of the tablet yet.
