Unexpected Power Dynamics in Poco’s New Releases
The upcoming Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro are stirring up intrigue in the tech world. Leaked chipset information suggests an unexpected twist: the lower-priced Poco F6 might outperform its pricier counterpart, the Poco F6 Pro, in terms of CPU performance.
The Poco F6, anticipated to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo, was previously thought to be powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. However, recent leaks point towards a different chipset in play.
Poco F6 chipset leaks
The Note 13 Turbo is set to be fueled by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (tentative name), as per a leak from Smart Pikachu. The leak also suggests that Redmi’s upcoming tablet might be on its way soon, raising the question of whether both devices will be unveiled together in April.
Another tech leaker Kartikey Singh, both the Poco F6 and Redmi Note 13 Turbo will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, contradicting earlier rumors of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (tentative name), set to launch on March 18, is believed to offer more power than the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.
The Poco F6 Pro, believed to be a rebranded Redmi K70, will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This chipset seems to be on par with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, at least on the CPU front. This could lead to an unusual situation where the more affordable Poco F6 surpasses the Poco F6 Pro in CPU performance.
Despite this, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3’s Adreno 735 GPU may not be able to compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s Adreno 740. This leaves the Poco F6 Pro as the superior choice for gaming enthusiasts. This unusual power dynamic between the two models adds an intriguing layer to Poco’s upcoming releases.
