Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 4G Unveiled as a Re-branded Snapdragon 662

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 4G has been introduced as a rebranded version of the Snapdragon 662, sharing the same model number (SM-6115) and likely manufactured using the Samsung 11nm process. The distinguishing factor between the two chips is the slightly enhanced CPU and GPU performance of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 1, boasting a 100MHz speed boost compared to the Snapdragon 662.

Although Qualcomm did not make an official announcement regarding this chip, it was revealed during the launch of the OPPO A3X 4G in Indonesia. The chipset features a CPU configuration of 4x Cortex-A73 @2.1GHz and 4x Cortex-A53 @1.8GHz, paired with an Adreno 610 GPU @1050 MHz. It is equipped with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1.

Geekbench 6 scores also have surfaced online, showcasing single-core performance of 338 points and multi-core performance of 1062 points. This marks the introduction of a new entry-level 4G chip lineup from Qualcomm.

Oppo A3X 4G with Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen1

The Oppo A3X 4G is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 4G chip, coupled with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. The device features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with HD 720p resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, protected by Panda glass.

In terms of photography, the phone sports an 8MP main camera sensor and a ‘Flicker’ sensor at the rear, along with a 5MP selfie shooter housed in a punch-hole on the front. Operating on ColorOS 14 based on Android 14, a standout feature of the phone is the SuperVOOC 2.0 45W fast charging support via USB-C, powered by a 5,100mAh battery.

The Oppo A3X includes a 3.5mm audio jack and is available in sky blue and merah nebula color variants. The pricing for the (4GB RAM + 128GB Storage) variant is RM499, while the (6GB RAM + 128GB Storage) variant is priced at RM599.
