Red Magic is set to launch its latest flagship device, the Red Magic 9 Pro, on November 23. The phone will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, a 50MP triple camera setup, and a 5000mAh battery with 165W fast charging. However, the most intriguing aspect of the Red Magic 9 Pro is its self-developed R2 core gaming chip, which promises to enhance the gaming performance and experience of the device.
R2 core gaming chip features
The R2 core gaming chip is a result of the collaboration between Red Magic, Awinic, and JD eSports. According to Red Magic, the chip supports a multi-dimensional synchronization algorithm that can realize a deep combination of fingertip touch, vibration feedback, dazzling light, and surging sound. The chip also enables a 520Hz touch-sensing rate for the pressure-sensitive shoulder keys, a dual X-axis vibration linear motor, a Wi-Fi 7 module, a high-speed rail gaming mode, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additionally, the chip controls the RGB lighting effects on the back of the phone and the fan design, as well as the DTS Ultra X sound system for the dual speakers.
The Red Magic 9 Pro is expected to be the first gaming smartphone to feature a self-researched gaming chip, which could give it an edge over its competitors in the market. The phone will also be the first to offer 24GB of RAM and the first to use the second generation of the Snapdragon 8 series. The Red Magic 9 Pro will be unveiled at an online event on November 23, along with the Red Magic DAO TWS Deuterium Blade headset and the Red Magic gaming tablet.
