Redmi has officially announced the launch date of its new budget-friendly smartphone in India, the Redmi A4 5G. According to Redmi India’s post on X.com, the launch date is scheduled for November 20, 2024. The company claims this is the country’s first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2.
Redmi A4 5G Expected Specifications
The Redmi A4 5G is expected to be a budget-friendly smartphone with impressive features for its price point. It is expected to feature a large 6.88-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Inside, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 octa-core processor clocked at 2x 2GHz – Cortex-A78 and 6x 1.8 GHz – Cortex-A55. The phone is the first smartphone in India to feature this chipset.
The Redmi A4 5G is expected to have a 50MP dual rear camera setup, with an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It is also expected to pack a 5,160mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
The Redmi A4 5G is expected to run on Android 14 with HyperOS 1.0 skin on top. It will likely feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
The design features a premium halo glass sandwich design. The back panel has a rounded camera island, while the top features a 3.5mm audio jack. Images from the listed event show the Redmi A4 5G in black and a likely light purple or lavender color option.
The Redmi A4 5G is expected to be priced under ₹10,000 in India (or about PHP 6,999 in Philippine pesos). It is expected to be available for purchase on Amazon and the Xiaomi India website starting November 20, 2024.
However, remaining details about the phone have not yet been revealed; we can wait for its official launch to confirm the full specifications.
