Samsung recently unveiled its Exynos 2600 chipset in a teaser on its official YouTube channel. Reportedly fabricated on Samsung Foundry’s 2nm process, this chip is expected to power the upcoming Galaxy S26 and S26+ models. The company is anticipated to launch the Galaxy S26 series in February, with an Unpacked event likely scheduled for late January 2026.

However, the Galaxy S26 series will adopt a dual-chip strategy depending on the region. While the standard S26 and S26+ are slated to feature the Exynos 2600, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely retain Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. This mirrors previous Ultra models, which have historically relied exclusively on Qualcomm chips.

Early Geekbench listings for the Exynos 2600 (identified as S5E9965) have revealed its CPU and GPU configurations. The chip features:

    • 1x Prime core @ 3.55 GHz
    • 3x Performance cores @ 2.96 GHz
    • 6x Efficiency cores @ 2.46 GHz
    • Xclipse 960 GPU

Separately, according to reports, the redesign focuses on AI-driven enhancements to boost real-world performance rather than prioritizing benchmark metrics alone. Some reliable tipster on X has also emphasized the Exynos 2600’s next-gen AI architecture, positioning it as a competitor to Apple’s and Qualcomm’s flagship chips.

Additionally, he also mentioned that prioritizing thermal efficiency to minimize throttling and sustain peak performance levels over extended usage is a key focus. The company aims to close—or even eliminate—the performance gap between Exynos and Snapdragon chips by 2026.
