Galaxy A16 Certification
The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is rumored to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300. This information comes from leaked NBTC certification documents for the model number SM-A166P/DS in Thailand, which reveal the SoC of the Galaxy A16.
However, there is also a different model number, SM-A166E, which is suspected to be powered by the Samsung Exynos 1330 and is expected to be released in different regions. The SM-A166P/DS, on the other hand, is confirmed to be launched in India and Thailand.
Samsung Galaxy A16 Features
According to leaks, the rendered design has also been revealed by several leakers. It appears to have a similar design to its predecessor, the Galaxy A15. The phone features an Infinity-U display at the front, while the back boasts a vertical triple camera setup with a premium “glasstic” design.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 could sport a 6.7-inch display with a 1,080 x 2,340 resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 800 nits of peak brightness.
The device is also expected to offer three storage variants, starting with 4GB of RAM and going up to 6GB and 8GB options. It is also rumored to be available in two color options: black and mint green, based on the rendered images.
The battery is said to be a 5,000mAh unit with 25W fast charging. The phone is also expected to feature an IP54 rating for water and splash resistance.
One of the main features of the phone is its promise of up to six years of OS updates. Samsung has stated that its phones next year will offer long-term service, even in entry-level models. While the exact launch date has not yet been announced, rumors suggest it will be available in December of this year.
