Qualcomm has launched its latest mobile platform, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, targeting the mid-range smartphone market. The new chipset promises enhanced performance, improved gaming capabilities, and faster connectivity for more affordable devices.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is built on a 4nm process, featuring an octa-core Kryo CPU with four performance cores (up to 2.4GHz) and four efficiency cores (up to 1.8GHz). Qualcomm claims a 36% increase in CPU performance compared to the previous generation. Graphics performance also gets a significant boost with a 59% faster Adreno GPU, supporting Vulkan 1.1 and HDR gaming.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 reportedly achieves an AnTuTu 10 benchmark score of approximately 543,361. Here is a breakdown of the score based on test results:

For gamers, the platform supports FHD+ displays with up to a 144Hz refresh rate, along with features like Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Game Quick Touch for a smoother, more responsive gaming experience.
The chipset also boasts improved camera capabilities, supporting up to 200MP photo capture and 2K HDR video recording at 30fps. The dual 12-bit Spectra ISP includes multi-frame noise reduction for better low-light performance.
Connectivity options include 5G (mmWave and Sub-6GHz) with download speeds up to 2.9Gbps, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio. It also supports dual SIM and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS).
Other features include support for LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, Quick Charge 4+, Snapdragon Sound, and advanced navigation systems. Security is enhanced with a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and Type-1 Hypervisor.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is expected to appear in upcoming mid-range smartphones, offering a balance of performance and affordability.
