Qualcomm has unveiled its new Snapdragon G series gaming platforms. These platforms are not for mobile processors but are designed for handheld gaming devices. Initial adopters include Ayaneo, OneXPlayer, and Retro Pocket. The Snapdragon G series is divided into three platforms: G3 Gen 3 (high-end), G2 Gen 2 (mid-range), and G1 Gen 2 (entry-level). These processors are now listed on Qualcomm’s website and were announced on their official X account.

Snapdragon G Series (G3 Gen 3)

The Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 offers top-tier performance for premium handhelds. Significant CPU and GPU upgrades deliver immersive gaming experiences. Advanced features include ray tracing and high refresh rates. It’s the first Snapdragon G Series platform to support Lumen for Android handheld gaming devices. The chip boasts a 30% faster CPU, 28% faster graphics, improved power optimization and energy efficiency, and support for Wi-Fi 7.

Retro Pocket: While the Retro Pocket utilizes both Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 and G1 Gen 2, official key specifications for the upcoming Retroid Pocket Classic series have not yet been released, though details were shared on their official X account.
