In a recent announcement, Sony has taken the wraps off its latest midrange offering, the Xperia 10 VI. The company has officially launched the phone on May 15, 2024 in japan. The new device reveal it as a compact phone that continues the design legacy of its predecessors with a flat screen and a non-punch-hole front camera.

The phone boasts a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display, albeit with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset coupled with an Adreno 710 GPU. Running on Android 14, the phone promises two years of OS updates and up to four years of security patches.

Camera and Connectivity

In the camera department, the phone features a 48MP OIS main sensor complemented by a 12MP ultrawide lens. For selfie camera, an 8MP front shooter is on board. Connectivity options coming with a 3.5mm audio jack and support for LDAC in both wired and wireless modes. The phone also includes Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 capabilities.

The device doesn’t skimp on durability, featuring an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance (Waterproof – IPX5/IPX8, Dustproof – IP6X). It maintains a sleek profile with an 8.3mm thickness and a weight of 164 grams, along with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for secure and convenient access.

Sony has equipped the Xperia 10 VI with a substantial 5,000mAh battery, supported by 30 watts of fast charging capability. The company emphasizes the phone’s design focus on long battery life and durability, catering to the needs of mid-range smartphone users. Additionally, the Xperia 10 VI introduces a new “Video Creator” app, designed to simplify video editing and content creation for budding creators. The price of the phone is around €399/£349.
