Grand Theft Auto 6 is still set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, parent company Take-Two Interactive confirmed this morning – contrary to rumors that it would be delayed to 2027. Speaking ahead of the company’s Q3 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick stated the release window is now “locked,” dispelling recent speculation of a 2027 pushback.

Marketing “Blitz” Kicks Off This Summer – Physical Copies Launch Simultaneously
According to Take-Two Interactive, the full marketing campaign for the game will kick off in Summer 2026, placing promotional activity between June and August as launch approaches. This aligns with Rockstar Games’ historical pattern of ramping up efforts roughly six months before major releases.
Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two Interactive, stated that the company’s financial performance remains strong, with results highlighting broad-based growth across all operations.
“Our outstanding third quarter results reflect outperformance from all of our labels, and we are once again raising our Net Bookings outlook for Fiscal 2026,” the company announced.
It added that with ongoing momentum across many businesses, and the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19th, financial projections remain on track.
“We continue to project record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2027, which we believe will establish a new financial baseline for our business, set us on a path to enhanced profitability, and provide further balance sheet strength and flexibility,” the company said.

Take‑Two also addressed reports suggesting that the physical disc version of GTA 6 might be delayed to prevent retail leaks. In comments to Variety, Take‑Two CEO Strauss Zelnick categorically denied those claims, stating, “That’s not the plan.” This indicates that players can expect both digital and physical editions to be available simultaneously on release day.
Key Launch Details, Platforms & Industry Implications
While console players prepare for November, PC gamers will likely have to wait. Based on Rockstar’s previous release schedules for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, a PC port is not expected until late 2027 or early 2028.
- Release Date: November 19, 2026
- Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S (PC to follow later)
- Setting: Leonida (a fictionalized Florida), with Vice City featured
- Price: Expected base price of $70–$80
- Map Size: Leaks suggest a playable area 2–2.5 times larger than Los Santos
The confirmed 2026 release date provides relief to the wider gaming industry. Major publishers often avoid scheduling their titles near Rockstar Games’ releases to minimize competition, so studios can now finalize plans for their holiday 2026 and early 2027 lineups.
