TCL’s China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) has introduced the new 5.65-inch TCL Huaxing Real Stripe RGB OLED Display for mobile devices. This display uses high-precision inkjet printing technology to achieve a full RGB subpixel structure. This design is said to increase actual resolution, improve production yields, and reduce power consumption.

CSOT asserts that its latest panel type can help make the most color-accurate screens to date, as it is made from high-precision printed OLED technology. It is expected to be available by late 2025 and might debut in smartphones of various sizes later next year.
- Real Stripe RGB Design: Unlike most current OLED displays that use a PenTile or diamond subpixel arrangement (which shares subpixels to simulate higher resolution), the “Real Stripe” technology employs a genuine full Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) subpixel for each pixel. This results in more accurate color representation and sharper imagery.
- High Pixel Density: The 5.65-inch display achieves a physical pixel density of 390 PPI, which is visually equivalent to a 490 PPI display using traditional PenTile arrangements.
- Manufacturing Process: It leverages an advanced inkjet printing method for depositing the OLED materials. This approach is potentially more efficient and cost-effective than the evaporation method used by companies like Samsung and LG, as it generates significantly less material waste.
- Energy Efficiency: According to TCL, this Real RGB architecture can reduce power consumption by up to 26% compared to other designs. It also stated that printed OLED technology can save 300 to 400 million kWh of equipment energy consumption per year by significantly reducing vacuum processes—enough to support the daily life of a city with a population of 500,000 for 30 to 60 days.
As of now, there is no specific smartphone that will use this new OLED display, but we expect this later this year and start mass production for the 2026 smartphone displays.
