Xiaomi seems to be preparing a fifth model for its flagship 17 series, according to fresh details coming out of China. After the recent release of the standard, Pro, and Ultra versions, the latest leaks indicate that a “Xiaomi 17 Max” is being developed, with an emphasis on exceptional battery life and a more simplified design.

Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has stated on Weibo that the Xiaomi 17 Max will set itself apart with a huge 8,000mAh battery. This would mark a notable increase from the 7,500mAh battery in the existing Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, and will probably use high-density silicon-carbon technology to keep the device’s thickness reasonable. It’s anticipated that charging speeds will remain strong, with speculation indicating support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Weibo post by Digital Chat Station (posted 12 hours ago) with exclusive Xiaomi 17 Max rumors: The Snapdragon 8E5 large-screen phone features an ultra-narrow four-sided equilateral flat screen, rear camera design matching the medium-sized model, tested maximum battery capacity of around 8000mAh, 100W wired + 50W wireless fast charging, improved speakers, and the engineering sample is recommended in white, with hopes for a soon release.

The phone is said to come with a large 6.8 or 6.9-inch OLED screen, but unlike devices with “Pro” branding, it will most likely not include the secondary rear display present on the 17 Pro and Pro Max. Instead, the back design is reported to be more in line with the standard Xiaomi 17, providing a sleeker look for users who do not need the dual-screen arrangement.

The Max model is expected to be driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same high-performance processor used throughout the rest of the 17 series. This means that even though the phone prioritizes battery performance, it will still deliver leading-edge processing power and AI features.

The camera system is rumored to consist of a triple 50MP rear setup. The main sensor is expected to be the OmniVision 950, which is the same primary camera component used in the base Xiaomi 17. Even though it uses the standard sensor, the addition of a periscope telephoto lens means it will likely be positioned above the base model in terms of photography flexibility.

Existing reports suggest that the phone will make its debut in China this April, with white as one of the main color choices. While there has been no official word on a global rollout, the “Max” variant looks to be Xiaomi’s offering for power users who desire the largest possible screen size and battery life that lasts multiple days, without the extra complexity of the Ultra’s professional camera module or the Pro’s secondary display.
