Xiaomi’s latest flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, is one step closer to its international debut. After its recent official launch in China, the device has now appeared on India’s BIS and Thailand’s NBTC certification databases, signaling that the global rollout is on the horizon.

With the model numbers 2512BPNDAI (India) and 2512BPNDAG (Global) now officially registered, the 17 Ultra is expected to spearhead Xiaomi’s 2026 global campaign, likely centering around a major announcement at MWC Barcelona in February.

Global Certifications Confirmed

The appearance of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra on the BIS and NBTC platforms is a standard final step before a regional release.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Key Specs (China Variant)

Since the global hardware typically mirrors the Chinese version, here is the official spec sheet for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. It notably transitions to a flat-screen design and is the thinnest “Ultra” model Xiaomi has ever produced at just 8.29mm.

A New Focus on Optics

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s defining feature is its revamped Leica-tuned camera system. By moving to a triple-camera array, Xiaomi has focused on sensor size and versatility:

  • 200MP Zoom: The new periscope lens acts as a dual-purpose sensor, handling high-resolution portraits and extreme long-range zoom with a massive 1/1.4-inch sensor.
  • LOFIC Technology: The main 1-inch sensor uses new “Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor” technology to significantly boost dynamic range, rivaling professional mirrorless cameras.
  • The Leica Edition: In China, a special version features a physical rotary dial around the camera module; it remains to be seen if this specific hardware will make it to the global market.

What to Expect Globally

While the core specs are likely to remain identical, minor variations—such as in battery capacity—may occur for the global variant due to regional safety certifications. Notably, the China variant already supports Google Mobile Services (GMS), so the key differences will include a global-optimized version of HyperOS 3.0 tailored to international app ecosystems, as well as adjusted 5G band support to align with global network standards.

With the paperwork now filed in India and Thailand, an official teaser from Xiaomi’s global accounts is expected within the next few weeks.
