    Here’s what we know

Xiaomi has announced a major change in its software strategy. The company is retiring its popular MIUI operating system, which has been powering its phones for 13 years, and replacing it with a brand new OS called HyperOS.

HyperOS is based on the integration of Android and Xiaomi’s self-developed Vela system, which is designed to support all kinds of devices and applications in the Internet of Everything era. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that HyperOS will provide a unified and seamless user experience across Xiaomi’s ecosystem of products, which spans over 200 categories, including smart home devices, cars, laptops, wearables, and more.

The first smartphones to run on HyperOS will be the Xiaomi 14 series, which are expected to launch later this month. The Xiaomi 14 series will feature flagship specifications, such as Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors, 120Hz OLED displays, 108MP cameras, and 120W fast charging. The new OS will also bring new features and improvements to the performance, security, privacy, and customization of the phones.

Xiaomi has confirmed that HyperOS will be available globally and will gradually replace MIUI on existing and future Xiaomi phones. The company has recently revealed some screenshots of the new OS, which show a minimalist and elegant design with a dark mode option. The new OS also features a redesigned notification panel, a revamped settings menu, and a new app drawer. The company claims that the new OS will offer a smoother and faster performance, as well as enhanced security and privacy features. Xiaomi fans and users can expect a revolutionary upgrade with HyperOS.

Xiaomi HyperOS is a bold move by the company to redefine its software identity and vision. It will be interesting to see how the new OS will compete with other Android-based operating systems in the market, such as Samsung’s One UI, OnePlus’ OxygenOS, and Google’s Pixel UI.
