Xiaomi has entered the automotive industry with its first electric car: the Xiaomi SU7. This smart electric vehicle runs on HyperOS, the same operating system as Xiaomi’s popular smartphones.

Design and Partnership
The SU7 is a collaboration between Xiaomi and Beijing Automotive, a state-owned company. It is a sedan that comes in three stunning colors: Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Verdant Green. The SU7 showcases Xiaomi’s vision of blending aesthetics and performance effortlessly.
Performance and Technology
The SU7 delivers outstanding performance with its cutting-edge technology. CEO Lei Jun said that the name “SU7” means “Speed Ultra,” highlighting the car’s speed and agility. The SU7 uses batteries from China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. and BYD Co., depending on the single or dual motor configuration. The SU7 can reach 21,000 revolutions per minute, giving it impressive power and acceleration. Xiaomi also uses gigacasting manufacturing, a technique invented by Tesla, to ensure the best quality and precision in production.
HyperOS Integration
The SU7 integrates HyperOS, the shared operating system of Xiaomi’s smartphones. This allows for seamless connectivity and enhanced user experience. The SU7’s operating system optimizes performance and provides advanced features, making it a unique choice in the electric car market.
Future Ambitions
During the launch event, CEO Lei Jun stated that Xiaomi aims to be one of the top five automakers in the world within the next 15 to 20 years. This shows Xiaomi’s ambition to be a major player in the automotive industry.
Availability and Pricing
Xiaomi has not revealed the exact price of the SU7, but it plans to offer a more affordable option than competitors like the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. The SU7 is expected to cost less than CNY 898,000 (about PHP 7 million) for the Taycan and CNY 698,900 (about PHP 5.5 million) for the Model S.
The SU7 aims to make electric cars more accessible to a larger audience. According to sources, the estimated price for the Xiaomi SU7 is between ¥300,000 to ¥400,000 (around $41,400 to $55,200) or between (PHP2-3million) The SU7 will be available for sale next year.
