Xiaomi has introduced a new affordable 4G tablet, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G. This tablet serves as a smaller and more portable alternative to the Redmi Pad SE, potentially competing with the iPad Mini but in a budget segment. According to reports, the tablet was launched globally on August 21, 2024, with several launch bonuses, including a pair of earbuds.

The tablet measures 211.58mm in height, 125.48mm in width, and 8.8mm in thickness, weighing 375g. Its lightweight, slim, and stylish design allows it to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G boasts an 8.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with an 800×1340 resolution, a 5:3 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen also features a peak brightness of up to 600 nits and has received two TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort certifications.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio G85 processor, paired with the Arm Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The device comes in three storage variants: 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB. Additionally, it supports up to 2TB of external microSD card storage.
For photography, the tablet features an 8MP f/2.0 main camera sensor with a 1.12μm pixel size, capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps. On the front, it has a 5MP f/2.2 selfie shooter with a 1.12μm pixel size.
Connectivity options include dual nano SIM support, dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and FM radio.
The tablet packs a 6650mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. According to the company, the device can charge from 0% to 100% in 140 minutes, which is approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Other notable features include dual stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos for a clear and Hi-Res audio experience. The tablet also supports a 3.5mm audio jack, adding to its impressive features.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G is available in three color options: Sky Blue, Aurora Green, and Graphite Grey. While the official price has not been announced yet, it is expected to be a budget-friendly option.
