Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartwatch, the Xiaomi Watch S3, on Thursday, October 26, along with the Xiaomi 14 series smartphones and the new HyperOs software. The company has been teasing the features and design of the watch on its official social media accounts and website.
The Xiaomi Watch S3 will be the successor of the Xiaomi Watch S2, which was released last year. The new watch will sport a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display with thin bezels, adaptive refresh rate, 326 PPI, and 600 nits peak brightness level. The watch will also have various colorful replaceable bezels and straps for customization.
One of the main highlights of the device will be its operating system, HyperOS. This is a new software platform that Xiaomi has developed to integrate its Android-based devices with its Vela system for IoT. HyperOS will enable cross-device connectivity and interactivity among Xiaomi’s products, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, TVs, smart speakers, and home appliances.
HyperOS will also offer a range of features and improvements for the Xiaomi Watch S3, such as 4G connectivity, native voice calls, heart rate monitor, SPO2 blood oxygen monitor, multisport modes, GPS, NFC, and 5ATM water resistance. The watch will also have a 520 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the 500 mAh battery of the Watch S2.
The Xiaomi Watch S3 is expected to compete with other smartwatches in the market, such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4G and the Apple Watch Series 7. The price and availability of the watch are yet to be announced, but it is likely to be launched first in China before making its way to other regions.
