After Qualcomm unveiled its Snapdragon G series for handheld devices this month, leaks have again hinted at the imminent launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite. Rumors suggest this chip will not use the same Oryon cores as the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and that it is the direct successor to that chip.

Snapdragon 8s Elite Architecture
According to Digital Chat Station, a well-known reliable leaker on Weibo, the chip uses a 1× 3.21GHz Cortex X4 Core, 3× 3.01GHz Cortex A720 cores, 2× 2.80GHz Cortex A720, and 2× 2.02GHz Cortex A520 cores. The GPU will use an Adreno 825 clocked at 1100MHz, slightly below the Adreno 830 from the SD 8 Elite.

Snapdragon 8s Elite Configurations | |
---|---|
Cortex X4 Core | 1X @3.21Ghz |
Cortex A720 | 3X @3.1GHz |
Cortex A720 | 2X @2.80GHz |
Cortex A520 | 2X @2.02GHz |
GPU | Adreno 825 @1100MHz |
The CPU architecture lacks an Oryon core, which might not provide higher performance; however, rumors suggest the Snapdragon 8s Elite boasts an Antutu score of around 2 million, indicating flagship-level performance. These same rumors, however, suggest that the configuration and lack of Oryon cores make the chip cheaper than previous flagship models.
Previously, Digital Chat Station’s prediction matches his last post from last year, suggesting the Snapdragon 8s Elite will be used around April 2025 this year. The post also suggests that the first phone to use this chip will feature 90W fast charging, a 1.5K resolution, and a massive 7,000mAh battery, possibly referring to the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro with a (model number 25053RT47C) received 3C certification, likely supporting 90W rapid charging and a 7,000mAh battery.

It is expected to debut as one of the first Snapdragon 8s Elite phones in April in China. Rebranded versions, such as the Poco F7, may launch later in the same month or May in India and other markets. Aside from that, it is also expected that IQOO, Vivo, Xiaomi, and other brands will use this chip this year.
