MediaTek has launched the Helio G200, an entry-level chip with minor performance upgrades to its predecessor. The chip has a similar architecture to the previous Helio G100, with 2x Arm Cortex-A76 up to 2.2GHz and 6x Arm Cortex-A55 up to 2.0GHz. The GPU is also the same Arm Mali-G57 MC2, but it is slightly overclocked to 1.1GHz.

Here is the performance advantage versus competitor alternative platforms:

  • >35% faster Antutu performance
  • >40% single-core performance
  • >20% multi-core performance (GB)
  • >50% faster social app launch speed
  • >75% faster GPU performance
  • Up to 30% more power-efficient in games
  • Over 470,000+ Antutu benchmark score

The MediaTek Helio G200 is not a huge upgrade over the Helio G100, using the same 6nm node from TSMC. However, it adds 200MP camera support and improved 12-bit DCG support for better HDR in videos.

The Helio G200 supports 1080p FHD+ displays with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and reduces power consumption by about 20%. It also features MediaTek HyperEngine Technology, intelligently managing the CPU and GPU to deliver smoother, longer-lasting gaming experiences with greater power efficiency.
