Qualcomm has officially launched the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, boasting significant performance and efficiency improvements. Built using TSMC’s 4nm process and featuring a three-cluster architecture, its specifications include:

    • 1 × A720 – 2.8 GHz
    • 3 × A720 – 2.4 GHz
    • 4 × A520 – 1.84 GHz

The chip offers a 27% CPU performance improvement and a 30% GPU improvement for faster graphics rendering. Its AI Engine boasts a 65% performance increase over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 AnTuTu Benchmark Score

Tipster Oda Kan Technology, testing the Honor 400—the first device to utilize the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4—further validated the chip’s capabilities. The Honor 400’s base model achieved an AnTuTu score of 1.35 million, exceeding the Dimensity 8300 by 12%. The Honor 400 Pro, equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, reached an impressive 2.03 million, setting a new benchmark for sub-flagship devices.

Tests using “Genshin Impact” showed minimal frame rate fluctuation (only 1.2 frames at full HD). Energy efficiency improved by more than 30% compared to the previous generation, thanks to the Honor AI scene prediction system’s intelligent resource allocation. Playing “Honor of Kings” resulted in a 3.5°C temperature reduction and an 18% decrease in power consumption during extended gameplay.

Rumors suggest that Vivo and Realme will also launch phones featuring this chip in the coming months.
