A leaked AnTuTu benchmark score for the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 8500 has been circulating online. The chip reportedly reached 2.2 million points, marking a notable leap in raw power compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 8400.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the chip is crafted using a 4nm process from TSMC and features an 8-core A725 all-large core architecture. Current prototype testing shows a super-large core frequency of 3.4GHz for the prime core.

The GPU is the same as its predecessor, the Mali-G720; however, it has reportedly been scaled up with a frequency of 1.5GHz, and the ISP and peripherals have been upgraded to some extent. The GPU’s theoretical performance is also said to surpass the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and SD 8s Gen 4.
MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Specs:
- 4nm TSMC process
- 8-core Cortex-A725 All-large core architecture
- 3.4GHz Cortex-A725 Prime core
- Immortalis-G720 GPU (1.5GHz±)
The tipster further added that the first device to use this chip will be a mid-range phone with a mid-screen design and a large-capacity battery. Digital Chat Station did not directly specify which brand would be the first to utilize this chip, but according to Smart Pikachu, it will be the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5.

Consequently, the Redmi Turbo 5 is confirmed to be the first to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500, which has been promoted by Lei Jun. The phone is said to have a minimalist design with a large, rounded metal frame and a 6.6-inch screen display. Smart Pikachu also hinted that the phone will be in the CNY 2K price range, which is about ₱16K in Philippine pesos.
