Xiaomi has officially announced the revamped Xiaomi SU7, building on its first model that was initially launched in China, and highlighting major upgrades in range, charging speed, safety, and intelligent driving as the company deepens its push into the electric vehicle market. The launch is scheduled for March 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM in China, and the pre-sale price starts at CNY 229,900 (~$33,000).

The updated SU7 lineup delivers extended driving range across all variants, with the Pro model offering up to 902 kilometers on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), placing it among the longest-range electric sedans in its segment.
Xiaomi also emphasized fast-charging capabilities enabled by a silicon carbide high-voltage platform. The top-tier Max version reaches a peak voltage of 897V and supports ultra-fast charging, adding up to 670 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes, with a maximum charging rate of 5.2C.

All variants of the new SU7 come equipped with Xiaomi’s V6s Plus super motor as standard, paired with a significantly upgraded chassis that includes 265mm-wide rear tires and fixed calipers, aimed at improving handling and stability.
The company is also standardizing advanced driver assistance technology across the lineup. Each model features LiDAR and up to 700 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of computing power, enabling a full suite of intelligent driving capabilities.
Safety upgrades are a central focus of the new SU7. The vehicle uses 2200MPa ultra-high-strength steel throughout its structure, alongside enhanced battery protection systems. These include 17 layers of high-voltage insulation, a bulletproof coating on the battery pack underside, and a newly added 1500MPa scratch-resistant crossbeam at the front of the chassis.

Additional safety features include nine airbags as standard and triple redundant door handles designed to meet upcoming national safety standards ahead of schedule.
Inside, Xiaomi has improved overall comfort with upgraded seating, while introducing double-layer laminated glass for a quieter cabin. The vehicle also features advanced sun-protective and heat-insulating glass designed to block ultraviolet and infrared radiation.
The new SU7 marks Xiaomi’s next step in the automotive space as it goes up against established electric vehicle brands in China’s competitive EV market.
