Redmi has officially launched the Note 17 in China with a starting price of CNY 1,299, which converts to approximately ₱11,700. It is offered in three storage variants and comes in Black, Shallow Cyan, and Meteor Purple color options.
Here are the official prices for each Redmi Note 17 storage variant, with approximate conversions to Philippine Peso:
- 6GB + 128GB: CNY 1,299 (~₱11,700)
- 8GB + 128GB: CNY 1,399 (~₱12,700)
- 8GB + 256GB: CNY 1,599 (~₱14,500)
The device is now available for purchase in China alongside the Redmi Note 17 Pro via the official Xiaomi Mall online store. Availability in other regions, particularly the Philippines, has not yet been announced.
Features and Comparison to Its Predecessor
On paper, the Redmi Note 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor paired with the Adreno 613 GPU. Compared to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 15 with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, this represents a slight technical downgrade in performance. However, it sees a notable upgrade in battery capacity at 8,000mAh, while retaining the same 45W fast charging speed.
The display is also now larger, using a 7-inch Samsung E4 Pro AMOLED panel with up to 1800 nits of peak brightness. In the camera department, the Note 17 uses a single 50MP main sensor (Samsung S5KJNS), and no longer includes the secondary depth sensor found in the previous model.
Other features remain largely consistent, including an in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, IR blaster, and an IP65 dust and water resistance rating.
