Seven large artificial intelligence models built for smartphones have successfully completed official registration with Chinese regulators according to information shared by well known reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo and republished by the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily. All approvals were granted on July 8, 2026, covering products from Apple, Huawei, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Samsung and Nubia.
The full list confirms that each brand received clearance for a dedicated on device AI system. Apple registered its Apple Intelligence model through its local entity in Shanghai. This marks the first formal approval for Apple’s smartphone focused AI service tailored for the Chinese market. Many observers now believe the feature will make its domestic debut preinstalled on the upcoming iPhone 18 series expected later this year. The report also notes that the Chinese version of Apple Intelligence is supported by underlying technology from Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen large language platform.
Five domestic manufacturers and one global peer received approval on exactly the same day. Huawei based in Jiangsu province filed its Xiaoyi AI model. Two companies based in Guangdong also completed the process, with OPPO registering its AndesGPT system and vivo submitting its Blue Heart On Device Large Model. Beijing was the filing location for Xiaomi Surge AI and Samsung’s Galaxy AI operated through the company’s Chinese investment arm. The seventh approved entry comes from Nubia in Shanghai, which listed its Doubao Mobile Large Model for use on ZTE branded devices.
| No. | Region | Large Model Name | Registration Entity | Registration Date | Applicable Scenario |

| 2 | Jiangsu | Huawei Xiaoyi AI Large Model | Huawei Software Technologies Co., Ltd. | 2026/7/8 | Huawei Smartphone |
| 3 | Guangdong | AndesGPT Large Model | OPPO Guangdong Mobile Telecommunications Co., Ltd. | 2026/7/8 | OPPO Smartphone |
| 4 | Guangdong | vivo Blue Heart On-Device Large Model | Vivo Mobile Communication Co., Ltd. | 2026/7/8 | vivo Smartphone |
| 5 | Beijing | Xiaomi Surge AI | Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. | 2026/7/8 | Xiaomi Smartphone |

| 7 | Shanghai | Nubia Doubao Mobile Large Model | Shanghai Nubia Intelligent Terminal Co., Ltd. | 2026/7/8 | ZTE Smartphone |
Every entry on the official register specifies smartphones as the only applicable usage scenario. Registration numbers and filing entities are all recorded in a public directory released by regulators. The synchronized timing of these approvals suggests that the next wave of AI powered handsets will arrive in the market within a very close launch window across different brands.
It is expected that this batch of approvals removes a key regulatory barrier for new devices launching in the second half of 2026. Consumers can expect most flagship phones arriving in coming months to run these officially cleared AI systems directly out of the box. The parallel filings also show that both international and domestic manufacturers are prioritizing native AI capabilities as a core selling point for their next generation product lineups.
