Honor Magic 9 Pro Max Rumored: Square Selfie and Key Specs Details

Honor has new details about the Magic 9 series coming out from multiple tipsters. The new flagship is tipped to carry high-end specs and competitive pricing. Leaks cover everything from a new square front camera design to battery size and expected launch prices.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station posting on Weibo, the new flagship powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6, also known by its model number SM8975, will feature the first 1:1 square front camera on Android. This design offers a wider and more flexible field of view for front-facing photography and vlogging, eliminating the need to rotate the phone. The tipster notes that this feature inherits advantages from the Robot series.

In addition, Digital Chat Station shared core imaging details that include a 200MP 1/1.28-inch F1.57 ultra-large sensor main camera with 3-degree OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 200MP 1/1.4-inch F2.6 large sensor periscope telephoto lens. The camera system will also feature ARRI color tuning technology.

On the pricing front, the tipster said the standard version is expected to start at 4,499 RMB, or 3,999 RMB after national subsidy. The Pro version is tipped at 5,699 RMB, or 5,199 RMB after subsidy, while the Pro Max could launch at 6,299 RMB, or 5,799 RMB after subsidy.

Meanwhile, the Magic 9 series recently received CCC certification in China, a key regulatory step that typically precedes an official launch. Honor has not yet commented on these rumored specifications and pricing details.
