HUAWEI has opened pre-orders for the new HUAWEI MatePad Air in the Philippines, bringing a 12-inch OLED display, AI-powered productivity features, and a lightweight design aimed at professionals, students, and content creators.
The tablet is available for pre-order from September 11 to 17, 2026, with an introductory price of ₱59,999, down from its regular price of ₱64,999.
12-inch 2.8K OLED PaperMatte display
The HUAWEI MatePad Air features a 12-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 1,200 nits peak brightness, and a P3 color gamut.
It also offers its PaperMatte Display technology on the tablet, which is designed to reduce glare and reflections while providing a more paper-like surface for reading and writing.
The display is surrounded by a 4.69mm bezel, while the tablet itself measures just 5.3mm thick and weighs 509 grams.
The brand says the display is a key part of the MatePad Air. It helps users get work done and create. It is especially good for people who handle documents, presentations, drawings, and other visual content.
AI features target everyday productivity
The MatePad Air also puts a strong emphasis on AI-assisted productivity.
Its PC-Level WPS Office Suite includes AI tools designed to handle tasks such as summarizing PDF documents, optimizing text, generating PowerPoint presentations, and creating charts from data.
The tablet’s HUAWEI Notes app also includes AI-powered features such as speech-to-text conversion and the ability to solve mathematical equations.
These tools are intended to reduce time spent on repetitive tasks and allow users to focus more on writing, planning, presentations, and other work.
Turns into a portable workstation
The MatePad Air can be paired with several accessories to create a more traditional PC-like setup.
The HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard supports desktop-style shortcut combinations and offers two viewing angles. The keyboard weighs 308 grams, according to Huawei.
For creative work, the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro features more than 16,000 levels of pressure sensitivity and different specialized tips. It can also function as an Air Mouse for presentations, allowing users to turn PowerPoint pages and operate a laser pointer remotely.
A Bluetooth mouse is also included in the pre-order bundle.
Attach the accessories and the MatePad Air becomes a portable workstation. Huawei made it for editing documents, making presentations, drawing, and creating content.
10,100mAh battery and Wi-Fi 7
Despite its slim design, the tablet packs a 10,100mAh battery. Huawei claims it can deliver up to 18 hours of HDR video playback.
The tablet supports 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo, which the company says can replenish the battery in as little as 30 minutes.
For performance, the MatePad Air comes with 12GB of physical RAM and 256GB of storage, with up to an additional 8GB of virtual memory through Huawei’s memory expansion technology.
It also features a 3D heat dissipation architecture and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
Pre-order freebies and discounts
Customers who pre-order the HUAWEI MatePad Air between September 11 and 17 can receive a bundle that includes a HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard, a one-year WPS AI Membership, a PC-Level WPS Office Suite, a Bluetooth Mouse, and a bag.
Huawei lists the individual values of these items at ₱7,999, ₱7,000, ₱4,999, ₱1,899, and ₱1,990, respectively.
Customers can also get vouchers worth up to ₱6,500 through the HUAWEI Online Store. Pre-orders made through Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok are eligible for vouchers worth ₱5,000, according to the brand.
Selected bank credit and debit cards can also be used for a 0% installment plan of up to 24 months.
The HUAWEI MatePad Air is available in Airy Blue, featuring a pearlescent finish created through an e-coating process.
Huawei made the MatePad Air for getting work done. It has a big OLED screen, AI tools for office work, works with a stylus, and has accessories like a real computer. It fills the space between a regular tablet and a light workstation.
