Apple has officially introduced the new MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, featuring a tandem OLED panel, touchscreen support, and its latest M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The new models are available in 14.2-inch and 16.3-inch sizes, with Philippine pricing starting at ₱214,990.

The laptop comes in Space Black and Silver color options, with several configurations available depending on the processor, unified memory, and storage capacity.

One of the biggest upgrades highlighted in Apple’s newsroom announcement is the new PROLED XDR display, which uses tandem OLED technology. It supports a ProMotion adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits for both HDR and SDR content, and a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It also covers both the P3 and Adobe RGB color spaces, making it suitable for professional photo editing, video production, and other color-critical workflows.

The new display also introduces touchscreen functionality to the MacBook Pro for the first time. Users can interact directly with onscreen content through gestures such as scrolling, pinching to zoom, rotating, and drawing. Apple has also added Dynamic Island, which provides access to notifications, Live Activities, music controls, and other information without interrupting the current workflow.

Under the hood, the MacBook Pro is powered by Apple’s M5 Pro or M5 Max chips. The M5 Pro configuration comes with up to an 18-core CPU and a 20-core GPU, while the M5 Max offers an 18-core CPU paired with either a 32-core or 40-core GPU. The laptop also supports up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of SSD storage, depending on the configuration.
