ZTE Nubia Flip 5G | Specs and Price Revealed at MWC 2024

ZTE recently unveiled its first foldable phone, the Nubia Flip 5G, at the global debut in MWC Barcelona. This innovative device features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a 6.9-inch foldable OLED display, and a powerful 4310mAh battery with 33W wired charging.

The rear of the phone showcases a unique circular camera module design, which includes a 1.43-inch AMOLED cover screen. The camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel sensor.

The nubia Flip 5G adopts a ‘flip’ form factor and incorporates a dual-rail suspended hinge that can withstand over 200,000 unfolds, as claimed by ZTE.

It’s worth noting that this ZTE foldable phone is the international version of the ZTE Libero Flip, initially launched in Japan. However, the global pricing of the nubia Flip 5G is significantly higher than its Japanese counterpart, starting at USD 599 (approximately PHP 33K)

In comparison, the ZTE Libero Flip is available for only USD 420 (~PHP 23K) and can even go as low as USD 265 (~PHP 14K). Furthermore, the nubia Flip 5G is pricier than the most affordable foldable phone in the Philippines, the TECNO Phantom V Flip 5G, which had an introductory price of PHP 23,999.

ZTE has not yet disclosed the availability details of the nubia Flip 5G in the Philippines. It remains to be seen if the price will be adjusted lower during its launch in the country.

Key specifications of the phone include a 6.9-inch FHD+ foldable OLED display with a resolution of 1,188×2,790 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also features a 1.43-inch AMOLED cover screen with a resolution of 466×466 pixels and AG etched glass.

Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor and comes with options for 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera and a 2MP auxiliary lens, while the front camera is a 16MP shooter with a center hole punch notch. The nubia Flip 5G supports 5G and 4G LTE connectivity, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C.

Other notable features include dual stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra tuning, IPX4 splash resistance, and a 4310mAh battery with 33W wired charging support. The phone runs on Android 13 and is available in Black and Gold color options.
