Qualcomm recently announced their new midrange chipset, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. This chip is designed for premium midrange devices. Qualcomm claims that it is the most powerful in their Snapdragon 7 series lineup.
Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 Specs
The platform is built on a 4nm TSMC process, with a flagship-tier CPU (1 Cortex-X4 at 2.8GHz, 4 Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6GHz, three Cortex-A520 Refresh cores at 1.9GHz). Its GPU is Adreno 732.
The modem is Snapdragon X63 5G with FastConnect 7800 mobile connectivity system and 3GPP Release 17 5G. The downlink over NR is up to 4.2 Gbps and phones with the chip will be able to work on all older cellular standards.
Display support goes up to 4K @60Hz and QHD+ @120Hz refreshrate, with variable refresh rate support from 1Hz to240Hz. Memory support is up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 Features
The chipset supports On-device Generative AI, which is capable of streamlining tasks and creating original images. Its 18-bit cognitive ISP renders images crisply and clearly with AI-enhanced features like semantic segmentation.
Regarding gaming, the Snapdragon Elite Gaming™ chip has features such as the Game Post Processing Accelerator and Qualcomm Adreno Frame Motion 2.0. These features enhance the action without sacrificing battery life. This chip also offers new-in-series Release 17 5G and Wi-Fi 7.
Qualcomm claims that the chip delivers 15% better CPU performance, 45% improved GPU performance, and 5% improved power efficiency.
For audio, the chipset features the Snapdragon Sound™ Technology Suite, which includes improved spatial audio with head tracking, creating a dynamic surround-sound experience for all your entertainment needs. Additionally, audio is optimized from smartphone to earbud at extremely low latency, making these features suitable for gamers who like to wear headsets or earbuds.
A report confirms that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will power upcoming smartphones by Realme and OnePlus. The first device to use the chipset is the recently launched OnePlus Ace 3V. The retail prices of the phone are as follows:
